Do you want to work for Mee?

One of our Mee girls is leaving to have a baby, and we're on the lookout for someone to cover her maternity leave, three to four a day a week for at least six months.

The boutique is great fun to work in, we involve our staff in all aspects of the business, and if anyone has a particular talent such as making knickers or jewellery, they may well find themselves selling them at Mee.

So if you happen to know anyone who is completely fabulous, adores clothes and gorgeous things, is incredibly outgoing and bubbly, has tons of retail experience, and lives in the Bath area, we would LOVE to hear from them. Either call us on 01225 442250 or pop into Mee, 9A Bartlett Street, Bath.

The Paris Hilton cupcake

Much to our amusement, the City Bakery in Los Angeles has created the 'Paris Hilton Visitor Cake'. It's a spicy cupcake with a nail file hidden inside. Genius. The cakes have been so popular, the bakery has been selling between 50-75 a day.
The nail file is in fact an emery board, so if anybody were to actually get a cake to poor old Paris, which is now highly unlikely as she gets released tomorrow after 23 days of her 45-day sentence, all is not lost, as at least she'll be able to do her nails with it instead of trying to break out. A pastime we're sure Paris is much more accustomed to!

Goodbye girls

Our two favourite Saturday girls, Gini and Tsana, are finally leaving us. These two beautiful girls have entertained us for the last three years with their gossip, laughs, bikini waxes, Asos dresses that barely cover the bum, England rugby players, wild nights partying, handbag dilemmas, and more rugby players! But their Bath student days are over, and Gini's off to Loughborough University to do a masters in renewable energy technologies, and Tsana's moving to London for her high-powered pharmaceutical job at Barts Hospital.

We sent the girls off in typical Mee-style - far too much wine at The Chequers, one of our favourite bars in Bath, (which incidently went very well with the chocolate-covered almonds we gave the girls), followed by even more wine at Sub 13, another of our regular haunts! The girls partied the night away in their Mee sequin sun dresses - gifts from Mee - and Tsana didn't take her wellies off all night, in readiness for Glastonbury. I think she's going to need them!

Good luck girls, we're going to miss you.

Happy Birthday Mee

This time four years ago, we opened our doors for the first time. We had been in the boutique until 4am the previous morning, arranging the shelves and rails, hanging the butterflies and getting the shop ready. Compared to how Mee looks today, the boutique was bare! But there were queues at the door at 10am, and other than not knowing how to use the credit card machine, the day went without a hitch. Apart from having to take painkillers at the end of the day for our aching feet!

If you fancy shopping on our fabulous website, as a birthday treat we're offering a free Mee sequin sun dress to anyone who spends over £150 for the next week. As a birthday treat to ourselves, we'll be having a glass or two of bubbly to celebrate (although a sun dress would be a lot more useful!).

So here's to Mee. Happy Birthday!

A toast to Toast

Firstly, we can breathe a sigh of relief as we've sorted out our rent problems and come to a compromise with our landlord. Thank goodness.

On a really positive note, fashion and accessories label, Toast, have moved in next-door-but-one to Mee in Bartlett Street, which we're really excited about. The shop looks fantastic. Along with Cath Kidston, The Bertinet Kitchen cookery school, Same Same But Different, a cafe that does the best cooked breakfast in Bath, and rumours of a fabulous new restaurant opening, Bartlett Street is fast becoming the most talked-about street in Bath.

So now there's even more reason to visit Mee!
